AEPAC fully supports the call by the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission for a criminal investigation into the reports of a person being burnt alive in Ethiopia.
We welcome the Ethiopian government’s commitment to take action against those responsible for the horrific act.
There is no room for such barbarism in today’s Ethiopia. This must act as a moment to reaffirm the need for peace in the country.
While the TPLF persists in attacking towns and villages in Afar and Amhara, violence will continue and Ethiopians will not be able to recover and rebuild. It is time the international community calls on the TPLF to disarm.
